With great pride today, August 9, the official inauguration of Metalsa Planta Guanajuato took place to strengthen the relationship and commitment with our client Toyota to produce the chassis of the next generation of the Tacoma truck.
The event comprised authorities from the Government of Guanajuato, local leaders, leaders from Proeza and Metalsa, and collaborators from Metalsa Planta Guanajuato who have made this incredible project possible.
With an estimated investment of US$180 million and a workforce of more than 1,000 employees Guanajuato Plant is strategically located in the Toyota Park in Apaseo El Grande, Guanajuato in Mexico, and will supply 2 Toyota assemblers: Toyota Guanajuato and Toyota Baja California. Annual production is expected to be 308,000 chassis, with a workforce of more than a thousand collaborators who will join our Metalsa family.
More than 20 years ago, we began our relationship with Toyota, reaffirming our commitment to them today. This plant has new technology, an industry 4.0 concept, and data generation to make better manufacturing decisions.
Our commitment to the environment was highlighted during the event, since in addition to being one of the first manufacturing plants in Metalsa with zero emissions from mobile equipment as 100% of material handling is operated with electrical equipment; we planted 9 thousand species of cactus; 2,500 mesquites and palo blanco trees; also, the facility has a wastewater, industrial and sanitary treatment plant, as part of our responsibility with the society.
Our Coordinator, Jorge Garza, expressed his gratitude to all the collaborators involved in this project, Toyota, local and state authorities, the population of the entire region, and the great Metalsa family. "We are here to drive for a better tomorrow, to leave a positive mark in everything we do and with everyone around us."
